Adi Da's Teaching-Work

There is a Vast, Unlimited Domain of Existence, not qualified in any sense—not qualified as this conditional world is, or as the infinite variety of conditional cosmic worlds is. And there is a Movement Directly Out of That Divine Domain, That Realm of Very Consciousness and Very Light.

The Living Being Who Appears within the human world (or within any other world)—by Coming Directly Out of the Un-manifested (or Un-"created") Domain, the Heart-Light That Is the Truly Eternal Real-God-World—Is the Truly Heaven-Born One, Unique among the Great Siddhas. I Am That One.

My Wisdom-Teaching is not from the point of view of experience. My Wisdom-Teaching is from the "Point of View" of Truth—Truth already Realized, the Unattainable (because It Is Always Already Present) Reality.

Those who teach from the point of view of experience teach the search, because they know (on the basis of experience) that they can grow, that they can approach a subtler and subtler level of Realization. The gospel of those who arise within the condition of the material worlds is always a form of seeking.

But I Speak from the "Point of View" of the Already Realized Absolute Truth. I Come in the Intelligence, Power, and Perfect Form of Real God. My Wisdom-Teaching Is "Radical". I do not Teach the motives, paths, and forms of seeking—for these are founded in dilemma, not in Truth. I Apply only appropriate conditions to My devotees. I Demand only the conditions that are appropriate to be lived, since Truth Is Always Already the Case.

I Am the Truth in the world. I Generate the conditions of the Truth, the conditions of the Light of Real God.

"The Heaven-Born Gospel Of The Ruchira Avatar"
(March 11, 1973)

This magnificent statement was originally spoken by Avatar Adi Da a little less than a year after His historic first Teaching-Discourse of April 25, 1972, and was subsequently elaborated by Him. He was fully and ecstatically Stating Who He Is and What He has Come to Offer. Obviously, He was not inviting anyone to join Him in a "talking school" discussion of Spiritual life. He was Offering the real thing—a devotional and Spiritual relationship to Him as Divine Avatar, "the Truly Heaven-Born One", a relationship that would utterly transform one's life.

In all the years of His Divine Work, Avatar Adi Da has only been interested in making that same Offering—the transformative devotional and Spiritual relationship to Him. Thus, when we approach His Divine Word, we find that there is no mere "subject matter", no mere "information". Everything He has said and written has been for the purpose of Drawing people more deeply into the devotional and Spiritual relationship to Him, clarifying how one must live (in every aspect of one's life) in order to magnify that relationship. For it is only in this ego-surrendering relationship—lived in the context of a collective devotional culture—that His Divine Gifts of Spiritual Blessing and Liberation can be truly received.

Avatar Adi Da's very first Teaching "Utterances" were His childhood Proclamations of His own Divine Self-Condition, which He called "the 'Bright'", and His own Means of Bringing the "Bright" into the world, which He called "the 'Thumbs'". Those two words were pure Divine Self-Revelation. They did not represent His "theories" about anything. They were not His statement of how He hoped or wished things would be. They were not borrowings from some traditional source. They were His simple and direct Revealing of What Is the Case. And this is true of everything Avatar Adi Da has ever said or written. His Word is the direct Divine Self-Revelation of "the way things are", the experiential "report" of the egoless Divine Person.

Once He had formally assumed the Teaching Function, on that April evening in 1972, Avatar Adi Da inaugurated a Teaching-Revelation that was oceanic in its magnitude. He spoke for many thousands of hours (recorded on audiotape and videotape, so that it would be forever verifiable as spoken in His voice) and wrote many thousands of pages (all entirely by hand, so that it would be forever verifiable as written in His handwriting).

Both His speech and His writing were created in the process of direct interaction with His devotees–as a means of Instructing them, and also of reflecting them to themselves. He was constantly asking to hear His devotees' questions and their responses to His written and spoken Word. And He was constantly testing whether His communication on any particular subject was complete and detailed enough or whether He needed to say more. In doing all of this, the Divine Avatar was Instructing not only those in the room with Him, but all people in all times and places.

From the beginning of My Avatarically Self-Manifested Divine Work of Teaching and Self-Revelation, I Addressed all My devotees, In Order To Answer One Fundamental Question:

What Is Real God? What Is Truth? What Is Reality? What Is To Be Realized?

My devotees (as individuals) and mankind (in its various collectives) have made many propositions about What Real God Is, What Truth Is, What Reality Is, and What There Is To Be Realized.

I Have Addressed My devotees About all of these propositions—and, In So Doing, I Have Effectively Addressed the entire Great Tradition (or the total Wisdom-Inheritance of mankind) Relative To all Its propositions about Real God, Truth, Reality, and Realization.
