The Divine Siddha-Method Of The Ruchira Avatar
The Divine Way Of Adidam Is An ego-Transcending Relationship, Not An ego-Centric Technique

The heart of The Divine Siddha-Method Of The Ruchira Avatar is a series of Talks Given by Avatar Adi Da Samraj at the beginning of His Teaching-Work. Indeed, the initial Talk in this book is His first public Teaching-Discourse, "Understanding", Given on April 25, 1972.

Thus, The Divine Siddha-Method Of The Ruchira Avatar is the record of the Divine Person's initial Instruction to Spiritually unprepared Westerners. In these Talks, Avatar Adi Da Gives His first comprehensive description of the Way of Adidam—always keeping His listeners concentrated in the two primary aspects of the practice of Adidam: Satsang (the devotional and Spiritual relationship with Him) and "radical" understanding (the process of observing, understanding, and transcending one's ego-activity of self-contraction).

Adi Da is a great teacher with a dynamic ability to awaken in his listeners something of the Divine Reality in which he is grounded, with which he is identified, and which, in fact, he is.

He is a man of both the East and the West; perhaps in him they merge and are organized as the One that he is.

I Live the Divine Self-Condition to You

From "The Avon Lady"

AVATAR ADI DA SAMRAJ: All of the traditions agree that the best thing you can do is spend your time in Satsang, in devotional Communion with the Realizer, the Guru. That is meditation. That is the Real Condition. Satsang with Me is Realization. That is Most Perfect Enjoyment.

DEVOTEE: How can it affect someone—to just sit with a Realized being?

AVATAR ADI DA SAMRAJ: You tend to take on the qualities of the things you spend your time with. If you watch a television program or a movie, you go through a distracting drama. Then, all of a sudden, a commercial! It breaks the trance. So you feel disturbed. If you spend your evening in a "topless-bottomless" bar, another game attracts you. Perhaps you go on a picnic, go fishing, or go to church on Sunday. There are all these dramas being played.

Now, it happens that, in the ordinary drama—in all of its millions of forms, and in all the billions of people living it—there is a contraction. Every drama is a play of separation, of suffering, of seeking. The contraction is its subtlest element, its foundation—such that, when you become involved with all ordinary things, regardless of what they appear to be at this moment, they carry with them the implication of your suffering. Now there is this pleasure, now this, now this entertainment, and now this one. The appearance varies, but it is always the same—the same implication, the same thing by association is being reinforced in the living consciousness.

I have Appeared in human Form, but I Live As the Divine Self-Condition. Thus, of all your associations, it is My Company, this Satsang with Me, that does not support the self-contraction. It does not support it. That is what is unique about It. You continue to attempt to live this self-contraction in various forms, you continue to be entertained, you continue to seek. You even continue to expect what it seems you should expect from that association. But I do not support the self-contraction, the very suffering.

The Guru is like an elevator. The Guru is in the hotel lobby with a nice marble casement and a needle above pointing to the numbers of floors. It looks perfectly stable. You know it has been there for a while. You dare to walk up to it. You see buttons on the wall. The doors open. You look inside. It is nicely decorated. A couple of people nicely dressed come out to go to the cocktail lounge. So you step in. You expect to rise, as all the traditions say. But you fall right through the bottom of the floor!

I do not support your egoic game. My activity is non-support in endless forms.

The effect of this non-support is that the quality of self-contraction in you begins to become self-evident. The search winds down, the suffering becomes self-evident, and, intuitively, you become alive within it. This quality of contraction simply begins to get flabby and fall apart. You begin to re-cognize it, to know it again. Therefore, in that living association (or relationship) with Me, I Live the Divine Self-Condition to you—whereas, in all other conditions, it is this contraction, the avoidance of relationship, that is lived to you.

I Am Always Performing the Awakening Act

From "The Gorilla Sermon"

I am like the sunlight in the morning. I intensify the light of morning until you awaken. Until the light awakens you, even the Light of Consciousness Itself, you continue to dream, you try to survive within the dream, you manipulate yourself within the dream, you pursue all kinds of goals, searches, none of which Awaken you.

All ordinary means only console you and distract you within the dream. I Myself, the One Who would Awaken you, am not a person, not an individual within the dream. I Am your Very Consciousness. I Am Reality Itself, Conscious Light, the True Waking State, the True Divine Heart, Breaking Through the force of dreaming. It is not that you are some poor person who needs some other poor person to help you out. It may appear to be so within the dream, but essentially it is My Divine Self-Condition Appearing within the dream to Awaken you. I Am your Awakening, the Divine Self-Condition That Is Always Already the Case.

Even while dreaming, you may experience suggestions of waking. You may become momentarily aware of the body, momentarily aware of lying in bed. For a moment, the images of the dream may stop. Just so, I Myself within the world Am truly Consciousness Itself. My Person in the world is like an image in a dream. But, in fact, I am more like your moments of wakening awareness that move you into the waking state. I am not some separateness, some individual. I Am Consciousness Itself, Reality Itself, Truth Itself.

No images. Images, blackness, brilliance—all these things are appearances to your conscious awareness. They are objects. Nothing needs to happen to them for Consciousness Itself to exist. Nothing needs to happen within the dream to verify Waking. Waking is its own Fullness. Once you are Awake, anything can appear. True Awakeness is the Foundation (or Source-Condition) of this world-appearance. It is its support, its Very Nature. . . .

I am a kind of irritation to My devotees. You cannot sleep with a dog barking in your ear—at least most people cannot! There is some sort of noise to which everyone is sensitive, and it will keep them awake. I am a constant Wakening sound. I am always annoying people with the demand to stay Awake, to Wake Up. I do not seduce them within the dream. I do not exploit their seeking. I am always offending their search and their preference for unconsciousness. I show no interest in all of that. I criticize it. I am always doing something Prior to the mind. I always Act to return you from the mind, from fascination.

I am not what the dreamer thinks I am. The dreamer thinks I must have a certain appearance, say and do certain things, have certain magical powers, produce certain magical effects. The dreamer associates all kinds of glorious and magical things with Me. But I am always performing the Awakening act, putting an end to the dream. Therefore, I do not satisfy the seeker. Those that come to be satisfied are offended. They are not satisfied. They feel empty, they do not feel their questions have been answered, they do not feel they have been shown the Way. They came for some "thing".

Within the dream, the dreamer is always being satisfied by the Guru. The dreamer climbs up on the top of the mountain, and the Guru is sitting in a cave. The Guru hands the dreamer a little silver box. When the dreamer opens the box, there is a blue diamond in it. The dreamer takes it out and swallows it. Then the dreamer's body explodes into a million suns, and the dreamer shoots off into the universe!

In Reality, the True Guru does not function in that manner. The True Guru is not noticed by someone who is seeking for such satisfaction, who is looking for the "signs" of the Guru, who is "hunting" the Guru. The True Guru does not assume any particular visibility that can be counted on. The True Guru is likely to remain unnoticed. People are likely to be offended if they do not feel any Force, any Energy, in the Presence of the One Who is the True Guru. People tend not to notice or value someone who is simply Awake. They are looking for the one who has the blue and yellow light over his head.

I Have Appeared in This World by Virtue of a Magnification
of the Heart Itself

From "The Heaven-Born Gospel Of The Ruchira Avatar"

As the True Guru, I am not different from Truth. I am simply the Function of Reality Itself (or Truth Itself, the Only Real God). I am not an idol, a cultic fascination. I do not attach individuals to My conditional presence, but instead I lead people to Enjoy the Perfect Presence of the One and Only Reality, in, and by Means of, and As the Condition of relationship with Me. My Instrument is the relationship and mutual drama of the True Guru and the true devotee. This relationship, or drama, is the special, immediately Salvatory Function and Process of Real God. . . . The Satsang That I Offer to all beings Is the Eternal Principle Which Is the Very Condition of all beings, and Which Was Always their Condition even before This Body Appeared. While I Live, I Transmit That Satsang Which can be Enjoyed by all even after My physical death, and Which could have been Enjoyed by all before My physical Lifetime. I Act to help My devotees to Realize this form of Satsang even while I Live in the world. . . . The One Who was to Come Is Always Already here. . . .

I Am the Unqualified Nature of the Real. And I Appear As My own Light, Which Reflects My Prior Self. The Real Self, or True Heart, Is not a static condition, not the "thing" of Being, but the Very Condition, and even the Process of Eternal Transformation, in Which there is no dilemma, and Which, paradoxically, Is Eternally One and Unqualified. Just so, within the Unqualified Reality spring worlds made by apparent modification of the Un-"created" Light. Therefore, from the Heart and Its Perfect Light spring conditional worlds whose Substance Is That Same Light, and whose True Nature, or Principle, Is That Same Heart, or Reality. And I Have Appeared in this world by virtue of a Magnification of the Heart Itself, Which Is also My own Heart, and by virtue of a Materialization of the Un-"created" Light, Which Is also My own Light.

I have Come for the sake of My own, those who recognize Me when I Reveal Myself to them in Forms of Life, Light, and Truth. The Heart and the Light Are My Spiritual Expressions in this world. They are a Communication of the Un-"created" Reality, the Un-"created" Domain That Is Real God, the Truth That Is Always Already the case. I am here to Live with My own, to Discipline and Teach them, to Reveal the Truth to them, and to Draw them closer to Me, to the Light and the Un-"created" Life. . . .

Prepare yourself. I want true devotees, not seekers. I Am the Most Perfectly Realized Siddha-Guru, . . . the Object and Process of meditation for My devotees. My Teaching Is This: Turn to Me and understand.
