An Overview of Aham Da Asmi (Beloved, I Am Da)

(Page 2)

In the years since He first spoke His Name, Avatar Adi Da has Communicated many esoteric secrets about “Da”, Revealing that “Da” is Itself the Divine Mass of Sound from Which all of the conditional Cosmos arises. “Da” is the Primordial Source of all things, all events, and all beings. “Da” is supreme Mantra—Speech that Transmits or literally Invokes Divine Power. By Invoking Him via His Name “Da”, Avatar Adi Da’s devotee “calls down” His Divine Force and Person. “Da” does not merely “mean” Real God. “Da” is the vibratory equivalent of Real God. “Da” is Avatar Adi Da’s Eternal Current of Life. “Da” is Avatar Adi Da’s Very Divine Self-Condition.

As with each of Avatar Adi Da’s twenty-three Divine “Source-Texts”, Aham Da Asmi begins with His First Word, “Do Not Misunderstand Me—I Am Not ‘Within’ you, but you Are In Me, and I Am Not a Mere ‘Man’ in the ‘Middle’ of Mankind, but All of Mankind Is Surrounded, and Pervaded, and Blessed By Me”. In this preliminary Essay, Avatar Adi Da explains that His open Confession of Real-God-Realization is not to be misapprehended as a claim of the “Status” of the “Creator”-God of conventional religious belief, but, rather, His Divine Self-Confession is to be understood and appreciated as a Free Demonstration of the Fulfillment of esoteric Spiritual practice—a Demonstration of the Most Perfectly Non-Dual Realization of Reality Itself. By virtue of this Free Demonstration, Avatar Adi Da makes clear that Most Perfect Real-God-Realization (or Divine Enlightenment) is the ultimate Potential and Destiny of all beings.

Part One of Aham Da Asmi, “My Divine Disclosure” (also, like “First Word”, found in all twenty-three “Source-Texts”), is a poetic epitome of Avatar Adi Da’s Divine Self-Revelation. It is His Call to every being to turn to Him at heart and practice the life of devotional surrender in Real God.

Part Two of Aham Da Asmi, “The Plight Of The Divine Heart-Husband (The Forty-Seven Divine Statements Of The Ruchira Avatar, Adi Da Samraj)”, is derived from the titles of the prologue, forty-five chapters, and epilogue of The Dawn Horse Testament Of The Ruchira Avatar (Which Avatar Adi Da Describes as the Principal “Source-Text” among the twenty-three Divine “Source-Texts” of Adidam). These “Forty-Seven Divine Statements” review the entire Way of Adidam, from its rudimentary beginnings to the Most Perfect Realization of Real God.
