Early Adidam Publications

Prior to the creation of the twenty-three “Source-Texts”, many books, magazines, audiotapes, and videotapes were published with Avatar Adi Da’s Wisdom-Teaching and with the leelas or stories of students of the Way of Adidam. These materials now represent a view of the historical development of Avatar Adi Da’s Wisdom-Teaching and the early responses to it.

While these materials can only truly be understood as representative of the extraordinary process of the development of the twenty-three “Source Texts” that are the authoritative canon of Avatar Adi Da’s Wisdom-Teaching and the Way of Adidam, it is impossible not to acknowledge the historical importance of these early publications and their past (and, through their continued circulation in collections around the world, present) impact on many people.

Some of these early publications, such as The Knee Of Listening, Avatar Adi Da’s Spiritual Autobiography, were so powerful in their impact that it proved inevitable that they would be, in whole or in part, updated to be part of the twenty-three “Source-Texts”.

The Adidam Library both catalogs the relationships between these early publications and the “Source-Texts”, and, through its Research Initiative, also collects and catalogs research detailing the relationship between topics, concepts, and practices described in the early publications and their complete elucidation in the “Source-Texts”.

The Adidam Library provides this online resource to its early Adidam publications collection. This full collection will be made available for research purposes as it is integrated into this online system. This will include full-text, with search capabilities, as well as indexes.
