Searchless Beholding

The initial adaptation to the foundation practices of Adidam—turning the four faculties to Avatar Adi Da, adapting to the forms of life-discipline, and developing the "conscious process" and "conductivity"—is a process that can be completed in a period of nine to twelve months. Once you are established in that foundation practice, you are prepared to receive the Divine Avatar’s Spiritual Initiation into the practice of searchlessly Beholding Him.

Searchless Beholding is a practice that can only be engaged on the basis of Spiritual Initiation by Avatar Adi Da Himself. That Spiritual Initiation is Given by Him in the circumstance of extended retreat in His physical Company, in occasions of silent Beholding of Him, in which each devotee receives His Spiritual Transmission.

This Initiation into searchless Beholding establishes an entire life of Spiritually Awakened resort to the Ruchira Avatar, Adi Da Samraj—to be practiced at all times, both when the devotee is in His physical Company and when the devotee is in the more ordinary circumstances of everyday life.

Avatar Adi Da’s primary description of searchless Beholding is His Essay entitled "No Seeking / Mere Beholding". In the following passage from that Essay, He uses a more elaborate name for the Way of Adidam—"Adidam Ruchiradam".

The Way I have Reavealed and Given is not any form of seeking.

The Way I have Revealed and Given is, most fundamentally, a matter of merely Beholding Me. . . .

Searchless Beholding of Me is a Spiritual matter.

Searchless Beholding of Me is whole bodily (or total psycho-physical) reception of the Self-Existing and Self-Radiant Divine Conscious Light of My own Spiritually Self-"Bright" Person.

Ruchira Shaktipat (or Hridaya Shaktipat) is the Process (or Mechanism) by Which I Spiritually Transmit My Divine Consicious Light into the conditionally manifested realms.

Thus, fully established practice of the Way of Adidam Ruchiradam is, altogether, a practice engaged within My Ruchira Shaktipat Circumstance.

Adidam Ruchiradam is not a technique, but a relationship.

Adidam Ruchiradam is a relationship (to Me) in which I Spiritually Transmit Myself to you, and you receive (and respond to) My Divine Spiritual Self-Transmission (or Ruchira Shaktipat).

After Avatar Adi Da's physical Lifetime, the process of Spiritually Initiatory retreat will continue, through the collective Instrumentality of the Ruchira Sannyasin Order. Such retreats will occur at the Sanctuaries He Spiritually Empowered during His Lifetime, in the circumstance of sitting in special Communion Halls in the company of members of the Ruchira Sannyasin Order. And such retreats will always be a matter of direct Spiritual resort to Avatar Adi Da, magnified by being in the company of His Instrumental devotees.

Antonina Randazzo describes her experience of Spiritual Initiation by Avatar Adi Da Samraj, during a period of retreat in His physical Company.

ANTONINA: There is a tremendous discipline and feeling of purifying heat that goes along with preparing yourself to be with Beloved Adi Da every day. At the same time, there is an intense Attraction. The Attraction is so powerful that, in some sense, there is no preparation—just adoration of the unbelievable Divinity in front of you. Your heart literally flies to Him. The mind can’t get a grip on this. All you know is that you are here to worship the Divine Person, and His bodily (human) Form is Transmitting a tremendous Gift.

Retreat is a period of feeling Beloved Adi Da Himself—Overwhelming the physical body, Consuming you completely. I feel Beloved Adi Da as a very thick pressure that descends into the body. I feel an opening in the top of my head, and He Pours Himself through every cell, moving down all the way to my toes. I experience a sensation of falling into Him—and He is right there. At a certain point, there is a feeling of expansiveness and I feel thick with Him, and the edges of my body seem to vanish. I am "replaced" by Him, absorbed in Him.
